Remmy has a new home. Thanks.

I posted this in the htf, but haven't had any luck. Here's a copy and paste.
She's 2.5 years old, purebred and has been spayed. Her name is Remington or Remmy for short. She belongs to my neighbors who just sold their house and are moving in with family while they build a new home. They took her in from his cousin who couldn't have her at their apartment. My neighbors don't want her back after their home is built. Compared to my GSD, she is much more aggressive, though there has been no issues with their 2 small children. She is free to a good home.

This. Fucking scumbags! Abandoning their dog that no doubt unconditionally loved them. They don't deserve that dog.

OP, I'd take her to go with my other two if I wasn't on the other side of the country, but I have a friend stationed at Ft. Lewis who was looking to adopt. I'll get in touch with him and see if he and his wife will take her.

For real. Pets are a life long commitment, for their life.

Beautiful pup! I wish I could, but a small dog here and in an apartment isn't fair to a dog that size.

Understood.

It's almost always a "circumstance" that leads to giving up an animal, which is a shame, but more understandable than: "fuck this dog, I don't want it anymore".

That's a good start.  If she can truly heel, she can most likely be broken of her other bad habits.

I would take this dog in a heartbeat if I didn't already have 3 Shelties. A 2.5 YO, house broken, out of it's puppy stage. Plus it's a herding dog, IMO, the best. Take this dog somebody and love it like your child and it will be the best, FTC has made a generous offer.

Good point.  Perhaps there is a nearby GSD or even non-breed specific no kill shelter/organization that is better able to screen prospective new families.

STRING UP THE OP!  SOMEONE HAS TO PAY!!!

But seriously, people who live in apartments should only have apartment sized dogs.  Like the chiahuahua or something.  Not a GSD.  Where are you located?  WA is a big and liberal place.

Thats kind of how I got my little buddy.

One family said they were too busy for him, then a second family said that he didn't get along with their dog. He cost the first people $1800 so I was quick to "adopt" him for FREE. He has been the best dag that I have ever had, and everyone who meets him wants to take him home. I am a firm believer that dogs are a product of their environment and with the right structure they can be anything you want....lap dog, guard dog, etc.

Someone will want this dog. Hell, I would take her if it wasn't 2400 miles.

Too bad the dog is all the way across the country. I've been looking for a GSD to adopt.

When I lived in Arizona I tamed an abused feral and fed a GSD in the desert and after 6 months I had it following me anytime I was at work, letting me rub its belly and was just going to try to get a collar and leash on it to take home.

Girl relieves me at work one night and the dog was all over her.  Within a week she had it home and had to have it treated for heart worms.
