| Just moved into the new digs. We have an archway that leads to a courtyard that leads to the front door. Had an iron gate installed in the archway. Front door is glass, iron gate has sheet steel on it for privacy. It's about 20' from the gate to the front door. I want to install a camera outside the gate and a remote lock on it so I don't have to walk out there every time somebody rings the bell. AT&T has this set up on sale but says the distance from the house to the gate is too far for the lock to work. So my friends, anyone know of a long distance remote deadbolt? |

You could just install a solenoid activated deadbolt or a mag lock. Low voltage wiring would run the lock with a push button.
A lightweight gate opener would also open and shut your gate. I have a Liftmaster with a mag lock on mine. Camera shoots from an eave of the house downward. It isn't a main entry point. |

Or get the schlage deadbolt that is electronic with the wifi kit... you can control it then from your phone. Wifi should have no problems reaching and it gives you a nice keypad on the outside should you want to grant access to certain individuals without a key. |
