seem possible? (owners reply)
Randy S
a month ago Veterans of West Michigan I highly encourage you to take your business elsewhere. I had a firearm shipped into Mr. Gun Dealer to have them do the FFL transfer. When I arrived to pickup my firearm (in my Army uniform) I was greeted by a rude and abrasive man named Eric (who identified himself as the owner). I informed Eric that I was an active duty Army Soldier stationed in Michigan and that I did not have a Michigan license. I provided Eric with my active duty military I.D. card along with my military orders establishing Michigan residence (in accordance with both BATF and Michigan law). Eric refused to even look at my orders telling me that he is not a lawyer and it’s not his responsibility to sort through my documents. I tried to explain to him there are exceptions to the residency requirements with respect to active military. After he repeated himself stating if I didn’t have a Michigan DL he would not transfer, I asked him if he would call the local BATF office or MSP to confirm. Eric then told me he was not wasting his time calling around and that he did not need my 25$. At this point I left and contacted the seller to see if he would be willing to ship the firearm a second time if I could have the item returned. When I attempted to go back and inform Eric of my decision he refused to let me in the store and told me through the glass I was no longer welcome. When I called the store Eric told me that he was shipping my firearm back to the original seller and that he did not want to see me in his store in the future. Eric and Mr. Gun Dealer have a severe lack of respect for their customers and the United States Armed Forces all together. Eric made it very clear that he did not need any money from this veteran; I encourage any military individuals past or present to take your business elsewhere because Eric and Mr. Gun Dealer clearly don’t need/want it. Unfortunately some of this is true. The reality of this unique situation is that we had two ATF agents standing less than 15 feet from us behind the two way mirror in the backroom the entire time advising me not to transfer you the pistol based on your provided documentation. We have nothing but love and appreciation for our customers and nothing but the utmost respect for our veterans. Sorry we could not be more helpful in your situation. |

<- FFL
BS. If there were actual agents in his store then they had a warrant because Mr. FFL did something criminally stupid. If there were IOI's in the store then the IOI should know the laws about transfers to military members, they are not difficult and we have had several inspections where transfers to military members were scrutinized; because they were properly documented we didn't get dinged for it. |

Agreed. We have done several military transfers. Mil ID and copy of orders, no problem. |

A five year old could come up with a better lie than that.
