I have a problem with my CD drive. I had a CD go to pieces inside the drive. I removed the drive and all the pieces. The drawer will not stay closed now. If I hit the button it will close...then open...then close...then open...then close...then open and stay open. Anyone ever heard of anything like this? Any ideas at all? Thanks, Jeff |

Duct Tape! Seriously, just get a new cd drive. They're so cheap now, even for CD-RW, that it's ridiculous. Just think of it this way: A new CD-rom drive will cost you much less than replacing an expensive CD (like your windows disk) should it choose to eat another one. |

I know, I will need to get a black one if it's going to match. It was my dumb fault anyway. I had a cracked audio cd that I thought I could copy and then throw it away. Didn't work out so well. I am a bit wiser now. |

Hi jvic, I have had the same problem a couple of times. I opened the machine and unplugged the power from the back of the cd then rebooted. Then shut down and re-attach the power. It fixed my Creative CDRW. Warning if your computer explodes it is not my fault!! Just kidding. [:)] Poiny |
