I am on the 75down/75up plan and getting these results on my Chromebox with nothing else connected. Is it reasonable of me to ask to get what I pay for?

In Upstate NY so that is the fastest option available.

Plug your laptop directly into the modem. It might be your wireless causing the slow down.

It's definitely this. Verizon gives you the crappiest router/modem combo possible. The modem isn't bad, but the router sucks ass.

When I firtst got Fios it was not close to the data rate that I was paying for. I called and complained. They did some kind of reset on my account and it has been fine ever since.

I had service 2-4 times faster than that for $50 in 2002. That's awful.

mine is running slow right now too but im still at 45 down and 40 up. Its usually way higher

I pay for 75mbps and I had a torrent download hit 10.44 megabyte per second yesterday. I think it's pretty good.
