The joys of turning 50, the colonoscopy. I am starving too, have to be on a liquid diet today. No diet coke either...

I had my first one at 27 - not a problem at all, and the drugs oddly made it enjoyable. Didn't feel a thing but high as a kite and chilled right out. Knowing the benefits I'd gladly do it again it needed for preventative... better than dying of colon cancer. The only bad part is the night before with the aptly called golytely because you'll do anything but and it tastes absolutely horrible. |

I would've told you to start your liquid diet 12 hours earlier than suggested.

but cancer history so the Dr wants to be double sure that end is fine.. My first one was at 42. I was the youngest guy in the GI lab. When they asked me why i was there i mentioned that both parents died of colon CA. Got me a "yes sir!" With a history like that you moved to the top of the list. |

Had three so far due to a family history. All good so far. Doc's here prescribe something called moviprep. All work about the same though. Put you to sleep with that milky stuff that killed Michael Jackson.
One second your awake and the next they are telling you they are all done. |

I always count the seconds to see how long I can stay awake once it hits my arm. I think my best is 3.

Had mine two days ago, I'm 47. Totally a non-event.
Even the poop thing was easy, clear liquids all day, no cramping. Three trips total. I think it was Sureprep or something like that. Got cheated on the cool buzz too. Woke up after 15 minute procedure, totally sober .
90 minutes total from arriving to leaving. Cool pics of my clean guts, no issues. Good luck! |
