on my epic quest for the elusive and rare down lock support assembly for a 1971 c177rg

If anyone has some information on whether 2041017-44 supersedes 2041017-4 it would be greatly appreciated!

I played you the song of my people

Serious answer: The two numbers you are seeing are part numbers for a single piece of metal that is solely responsible for holding up one side of the main landing gear of this airplane. Somehow I managed to shear off one of the two pins in it. Making that side hang on the hydraulic pressure of the landing gear actuator instead of locking in plac like it is supposed to. The "-4" no longer exists in cessnas database, but the "-44" does. However,  I'm not dropping almost 1500 bucks on a part untill im 100percent sure its the correct one

I would contact textron and talk with a rep.

Followed by air salvage yards.

Another place I found with a quick search was Texas Air Salvage.  I found a lot of 177 rg parts listed there,  but not that particular number.  http://www.texasairsalvage.com/main_list.php?a=search&SearchFor=177+rg

Try contacting them.

I found the part number in the parts manuals,  but I am thinking 1017-44 is different.  Without dimensions and part descriptions I cannot say for sure.

I am looking at 2041017-4 right now.

ETA:

Part manuals state  "Down Lock Support ASSY-RH               WEU 2041017-44"

Lol have that and the maintenance manual. I'm guessing "weu" means it's a replacement number. But I need to be sure

As per manual/catalog  "WEU"  means.  When Exhausted Use.
