I see that there is a current controversy ref. "Race" questions on the 4473. Haven't bought a firearm from a dealer in ahile, but I remember there being questions AFA race for some time.
What revision came out that has folks panties wadded up? |

Signed a 4473 a couple of weeks ago. There's 2 race sections now, apparently. They're both on the same line, so I skipped it thinking I had already answered. http://imgur.com/gO5z897.png Quoted:

Not sure about here. I missed it and the clerk pointed it out, so I did fill it in correctly, but Georgia lets you skip the call if you have a Weapons Carry License. Also, I love that we changed it to a Weapons License instead of a Firearm License. Now it includes knives and such. |

Not sure why folks are just now bitching about it. |

It's funny when you get a mixed raced person.
"What should I mark???" Whatever you think your are... I had one guy that was white as printer paper. Somedays he would be Hispanic, sometimes black, sometimes white, sometimes a Hispanic indian
He never once got delayed or denied |

Dont feel bad. |

He never once got delayed or denied My parent's loved messing with the school's ethnicity surveys. I'd get put in as my Mom's race while my little brother would be entered as my Dad's. One time the school called my Mom and she told them it's because I look more like her while my brother looks more like my Dad. Then they asked her if it would be OK to change my brother's race and she responded that she's 50/50 on being OK with it. |

I noticed awhile back that if I checked multiple boxes, it always resulted in a delay. Since I went to checking one box only (White), the delays are much less frequent. I'm white/native american I don't know how other states interface with NICS, but here in NV they ask Name DOB Type of gun Driver's license # State/Country of residence State of birth It is reasonable to infer that this is the minimum required by NICS, so I would bet that none of the race info had anything to do with a delay you have experienced. |
