What the hell is wrong with Chrysler? Does anyone else think that this thing looks retarded (my appologies to any retards that feel that I'm attacking their "goup", if you're offended, feel free to lock or delete my thread)? Chrysler Crossfire 3000 lbs, with no mention of HP, or really anything else that one would want to know about this car, like price. Why would anyone buy a ripoff of the 350Z, that will likely cost more and perform worse? |

here is a link to the original concept: http://car-truck.com/chryed/concept/xfire.htm Concept numbers: The Chrysler Crossfire is powered by a supercharged 2.7-liter, 275 horsepower (205 kW), 270 lb.-ft. (366 Nom) V-6 engine coupled to a five-speed manual transmission. Production numbers: The list includes MB's silky 3.2 liter V6, MB transmissions... Either way, it won't be a dog. I'd rather see commercials for this than more hybrid POS. |

Anyone know what they're going to be charging for this thing? |

Crossfire is basicly a station wagon version of the 300M Special. However, the words "station wagon" are not allowed to be spoken inside Chrysler. The official line is that the world does not need station wagons now that we have the minivan. The Germans are only slowly bringing them around as they point out that while minivans are useful, they cannot be sporty. It has already been proven in Germany that you can make REALLY quick station wagons. Like the Audi Avant and the Mercades C and E class wagons. The production ones are supposedly a 290hp 3.5L. The engine that was in the final Prowlers delivered before Plymouth was shut down. The body and engine are built in the US and are unique to Chrysler. The all wheel independant suspension, 4 wheel disk brakes, and 5 speed automatic gearbox are all out of the Mercades C class. Next year the 300N comes out, with the 5.7L Hemi. Engine and body will again be American, but suspension, brakes, and gearbox will be from the E class V8 Mercades. After it comes out, the Crossfire will be the only one using the H.O. 3.5 V6. UNLESS they have a unannounced plan to put it in a Dodge like the Intrepid R/T. |
| I no longer have the link to the web site, but minivans can be fast, I remeber a web site that had a crysler minivan that had alot of homemade and aftermarket addons that would put even a vette/viper/proche to shame in the 1/4 mile.. It is pretty cool to see a minivan smoke its front tires in the 1/4 and hit with low numbers like 10s 11s and 12s.. he he |
