i am looking for a good deal on a nylon MC jacket. It need some reflective proof tries and to have some of it be flouressent in color, per my CO.

So with that is mind I like the joe rocket phenix 5 but there must be better choices out there.. And if not $149 is the best price I have seen..

Thanks

Ebay.

Picked up a $300 leather jacket for like $75 shipped. No tears/scratches. Just a few seasons old.

Cortech looks like some decent textile jackets too.

I'm partial to the TourMaster Transition 3.

A guy I met was wearing one and it was so functional.

If you really want a less functional but more traditional jacket, try the TourMaster Intake 3.

Look for the end of season closeouts at the major gear websites.  You can get some awesome deals.

Poor OP would look like a Colorado Spinner (fishing lure) in either.

Real motorcycle jackets are black leather and have no sleeves.  No sissy reflective patches either.

Cheapest place I know of. Bought a helmet off them a couple years back.

Your talking about a military that forces its people to wear glow in the dark reflective belts in combat zones.

You could get whatever jacket fits your type of riding and use a hi viz vest over it when required. I have a Firstgear Kilimanjaro Jacket in black.

My unit has a motorcycle safety program and after I took the MSF course they give us one of these: Icon Hi Viz Vest

ETA: I picked up that jacket from another rider through the www.advrider.com forums for under $200.

cant go wrong with Olympia. My 4 year old X-Moto is right beside me.

As for the required reflective bits (look at the base and service orders)

I hated my Kilamanjaro. with a passion.

The Icon vest satisifes ALL DOD requirements for bright color and reflective striping. Wife and I both have one.

I used to juts wear the ICON vest over my uniform.  I feel like getting a jacket with a few reflective areas is going to be received as well as PT gear that already has reflective borders/lettering......still needs a PT belt.  So I'd get whatever jacket I liked, then grabbed the construction orange/yellow reflective vest to avoid any bitching.

I love my Transition 3.0.  The only issue is there's not much neck protection.  It's supposed to be a fall/winter/spring jacket, so it should have a higher neck line.  However, I just wear a neck gaiter down below my chin.
