These days I avoid as much as possible committing to anything..I've been finding that when I do commit to doing something, when the day that falls on finally rolls around I find there are other things I'd rather be doing...I also have generally found that when I do commit to something, my time/involvement seems to benefit other people more so than it does myself.

I've got a few things coming up that I committed to doing months ago, but after that no more....

You sound like a good, selfless guy.

ETA: To answer your question, I hate commitments. Still do them though.

Indecision may or may not be a problem I wrestle with.

I'll admit there is a certain amount of selfishness in my post, but I work a lot, and my free time is minimal and and these are not charity events I am talking about but rather things that will tie me up for an entire day if not an entire weekend...Basically I am at the point where I'm like  "I don't even have the free time to do what I want to do, much less what other people want me to do".....

I love it when someone is eager to go shooting with me this weekend, I get all my shit together including free ammo for their son to shoot my AR, and they stop answering their phone and texts.  If you don't want to go then tell me.  I have little free time and I don't appreciate getting jerked around.

yeah....i've been the victim of that...in my case though, when I commit to something I follow through no matter how much I may not want to.

I avoid that shit like the plague.

My weekends and days off are 'my time'

I like the freedom to do what I want and not what others want me to do.

Commitments never bothered me in my younger days, but now as I'm getting older I try to avoid them. I'm good for keeping them...I'd just rather not make them.

I generally avoid making additional commitments. I have enough responsibilities.

This.  I make very few of them but I honor the ones I make.

This ... it just pisses me of when they don't let me know they are not going when I could of gone earlier and not have wasted all day waiting

Just like I've fought the commitment of joining a rifle club and the nra type groups. I don't shoot enough to join a club and I've heard that joining the nra is just making the higher ups in the organization richer and richer and all you get in return is a crap load of mail. I'm sure that it's not true but the people I've heard it from are good gun owing types.
