| Does anyone make a GOOD FAL for under $1,000? |
|
Quoted:
Shit, you can barely buy a good AK anymore for less than a grand. Arsenal Inc? On average, about a grand. Unless you want to take a chance with Century. Maybe you'll get a good one for about $550 then. I went this route a couple years ago, $650 for a thumbhole one, spent a couple hundred getting the right US parts and sending it out to Moses to get the barrel threaded and new locking shoulder. Probably have around a grand in it....soooo I guess no, maybe an ugly neutered one but not a proper one. |

Quoted: lol...... people are charging 800 dollars for what 8 pieces of an AK with no barrel you think you're going to get a FAL under a grand? Imbel for sale, i can count 7 US made parts, looking for a US made floor plate, one mag with sale. Tapco rear stock, grip and hand guard, FSE FCG and Tapco CH for 922R. Sweet gun, garage/shops built but runs good last time i shot it 10 yrs. ago, may have been last time it was shot. |

Never heard of this brand but the discription is epic.
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=440008284 FN FAL MAN's rifle. Step up to a new level of firepower. NOT for sissys or mall ninjas. Stop vehicles, splatter live targets, giggle with glee as you watch debris fly everywhere from the powerful 308 cartridge. Yes its more expensive to shoot than your .223. BUT! you wont need to double or triple tap either. Yes it is heavier than your AR. BUT, It is made of solid steel. You could club a camel to death with it. Try that with an aluminum gun and the camels will just laugh and spit on you. One trip to the range will have everyone asking "What is that awesome weapon?" and "Why is it so much more awesome than my puny rifle?" USE the incredibly fair BUY IT NOW option to elevate your status in the world AND get FREE shipping. NO trades, no matter how many flashlights, lasers or handles you have hanging off your rails. Shoots great on "3" with decent ammo. Built during the ban era. This one has an original Dan Coonan Type 1 receiver made for Federal Arms Corp. back when they were still in business. Mostly G1 parts. Numbers dont match. Barrel is 18.5" long and has some odd markings on it. Possibly Argie. NO reserve. I take checks, MO's, PMO's or cash. I will do paypal if you can pay the fee and have the ability to be discreet. $25 flat rate shipping to your FFL in lower 48. |

Um.......Well if you can get into a kit for a good price. Quoted:

Not anymore. Those days are over. Then you have to get a receiver, then 922(r) parts. I found a G1 kit for a coworker for $400. He has to get a receiver and US parts. He will get in under $1000 pretty easily. But if the OP means a new manufactured like DSA or the like, no, he won't get into one for under a grand. I wouldn't sell my Para for under that. My 18" barreled Imbel might be sold for close to it, but no way I'm selling either at this point in time. I have a pretty respectable pile of Radway Green for both |
|
I got my 4 when they were dirt cheap back in the day (1 Izzy, 2 Roadies, 1 Brit)
BTW a good FAL is a SUBJECTIVE TERM. Mine are 4 MOA to 6 MOA rifles. While that meets the design specs of the rifle, it's not what I would consider accurate. ETA: You would be better off with an AR10 Platform or an HK91 clone if you can't afford an AR10 |

If you find a gun built on an Imbel or Argentine receiver you can get a good rifle many others will pass on due to being Century. Just FWIW,if you see Made in Canada,it was really Hecho en Argentina. Tell me more please. I have a Canadian, with a British kit and Aussie furniture. |

I paid around $700 for the "Hebrew Hammer", my Israeli light barrel FAL, 11 years ago. After hunting down the correct Israeli parts over a decade I sold it to a collector for $2000 last December. Was it awesome? Ooh, yeah!! Do I miss it? Nope. I'm not a collector and wanted something different.
Good luck with your search, OP. |

Eventually, so were FN produced ones... Just noting the difference to compare cast vs cast when pricing options. Edit: $975 from DSA |
|
Quoted: Still around, but expensive. You'll probably have to fork out $500 + for one. Quoted: Quoted: Are there any Australian or British kits out there? with the Sand cuts and everything? That's cheap compared to some AK kits.

| While we're talking about FALs, earlier this year, there was a website that was selling imbel kits for $500. They also sold Imbel receivers also I think. There was some talk about it on fal files and I think the general consensus that it was kind if a gamble, based on the sellers reputation. Does anyone have any idea what I'm taking about? I was tempted to get one but decided not to. I'm just curious if anyone got their order from them filled |

Found it- it wasn't fal files, it was a thread on the akforum. The seller was enterprise arms. It looks like some people got kits, some people got shafted. The kits received also seemed to vary in condition. I remember reading the thread at the time, ~$500 for the kit, ~$500 for an imbel receiver, it was really tempting. I didn't get it because I know nothing about FALs and didn't want to jump into it blind |

How much does a DSA run these days? Website lists around $1,800. Weren't they $1,300 not too long ago? In case someone hasn't mentioned this yet, Atlantic Firearms offers a DSA version for $975: DSA FAL |

Are there any Australian or British kits out there? with the Sand cuts and everything? L1A1 rifle That's a complete rifle probably for less than you could build one now a days. |
