| So my laptop will not turn on, even with the charging cord plugged in. What can I do? I have Itunes and a ton of pics and shit on it that I don't want to lose...am I SOL? |

Any indicator lights when the power is plugged in?
Replace the battery first. If that fails then the power circuitry is probably toast. The data on the drive is probably fine but you'll need to hook it up to another computer to get it off. ETA: What laptop model are we talking about here? |

Take battery out completely (if it can come out) plug it up, make sure outlet works and see if it boots up. If not, take hard drive out, get an enclosure for it, plug it into a desktop and get your pictures off. Thanks, I'll give that a shot. Now...whats this hard drive you speak of? |

You can always pull the hard drive and make an external hard drive to plug into a different PC.

The odds are low that this will help but, try it for giggles anyway. We have a certain model laptop at work that have this issue from time to time with the power interface.
Pull the battery out. Pull the power cord out. Push the power button and hold it for about 30 seconds. ( will not power on since everything is pulled out duh!) This will kill any residual power in the system that may be hung up. Reinsert battery and power cord. Hit power button. Good luck! Like I said low odds but , we have a model with a know issue and this works on them most every time. |

As far as HOW to do so, it's different from one computer to another, and your best bet is to hit up The Great And All-Knowing, Google. |
