Daughter got this bite last night on her foot. When she first got bit it just looked like a mosquito bite (red and inflamed). Today it's still fairly red and has a head on it. It doesn't seem to hurt her... You can press on it and it doesn't seem to bother her.

Does this need a trip to the doctor?

mark the edge of the redness with a pen or marker and see if it's spreading after a couple hours

Looks swollen up a lot.  I would be safe and have her checked out.

EDIT I have no clue. and it is hard to tell how big the red mark is in your pic

That's gonna get pretty ugly

I wouldn't hesitate to take her in to an ER or Urgi-care

Ebolachupacabra Fly?

EDIT: A trip to the doctor would not be a bad idea.

If this occured last night, it ain't a recluse.

That looks like a lot of little fever blisters rather than a "head" and that looks wrong, maybe not bad but wrong.  Call your Mom(s), then trust them on this issue.

I hope just a histamine response rather than patient zero.

How old is your daughter? Any weeping from the site?

I don't know what it is about the bugs this year but my daughter has had two like that.  I've had three and my wife has had one.  One of my daughter's ended up getting infected.  Her's were both so bad that she went to the doc for them.  Some kind of cortisone cream for the first and antibiotics for the second.

If that didn't look better by tomorrow I would consider going to a doc in the box.  I don't think I'd bother with the ER unless it got worse.

I get a similar hive type of rash on my hands from wearing work gloves in the summer months.  Really anything that traps heat and sweat will makes my hands break out.  I had to start wearing silk gloves under my motorcycle gloves they made me break out so bad.

After the blisters go away(not pop) my skin gets dry and peels(similar to a sunburn peeling).

I'd say keep an eye on it, but not yet E.R. related.  But I am no expert.

It looks like a histamine reaction to an infection.  I'm not a real doctor though.

She will be 2 years in January. If by weeping you mean discharge, no

I agree the brown patch looks like something not correct.
Kids like dogs and cats err on the side of caution, maybe urgent care instead of ER but honestly what is money compared to your little one's health.

Thanks. We'll probably take her in tomorrow if it's still like this

The brown spot is rough and almost gritty; hard. It's not the same smoothness as the rest of her skin

My kid had some that looked exactly like that. The pediatrician said to put hydrocortisone cream on it and gave us a tube of topical antibiotic to put on it to minimize chance of infection.

To me, it looks like the start of Lymes. Doctor time!

Took her to the doctor as a precaution. Histamine reaction to a bug bite. Hydrocortisone should clear it up. No worries.

My little girl got some similar bites this summer too.  Looked exactly the same, but it never seemed to bother her and they went away after a couple of days.  We were worried initially, but if they are going to have a bad reaction, it's usually pretty quick.

Chew up a nice wad of chewing tobacco (preferably Levi Garrett) and tape the wad to the bite for at least 12 hours.

At least that's what they did with me when I was a kid.

Scratch that, I thought it was on OP. I'm a douche.

I'd give it a while to fade. If it doesn't in the next day or so, or it starts to hurt her, I'd head in to have it looked at.

Do you have stinging nettles in your area?
