I got home fairly late last night. I pulled into the driveway and parked on the side of the garage. I was unloading my kids when I noticed a car pull up and park across the street. It is relevant to note that there is an orchard across the street from me and is fairly dark as there is only one poorly lit street lamp a little bit down the road. It didnt sit well with me. Seemed strange. I got my kids taken care of then got back outside to see if they were still there. I got back out in time to see 3 or 4 teenagers get out of the car and walk in front of my house, heading down the road, I watched them go past my neighbors then real quick, cut across the side of his property out of sight.

I talked to my brother and told him what happened and he also thought it was suspicious. So I called dispatch. They sent out a LEO to whom I talked to and told him what happened and where they headed. He told me he would park up the road and watch for awhile to see if they came back. I went inside. About 30 minutes later my brother texts me and tells me that another car just pulled up and two more teenagers got out and dissappeared into the dark. I walk back outside, sure enough, now 2 cars are parked there, and no sign of LEO. This morning, both cars are gone.

So, did I overreact? My brother stated they may have just been going to a friends house. Ok. if thats the case, why the hell did they park clear out of the way and in the dark?

TL/DR: I assume teens are up to no good. I summon LEO.

I think you did fine. They were probably just fucking around but you can't ever tell these days.

Probably a party they were heading to.  Used your street as a parking lot then walked to the location of the party.

-5 for no MS Paint.
-2 for no draw down.
-1 for no tactical pursuit.
-2 for not letting a few rounds go into the driveway.

I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

Maybe they were hiding in the orchard to drink beer. As already noted, a little paranoia is required these days.

having been one of those kids in my misspent youth, i'd tend to disagree. personally, i might go ask them when they parked and if i didn't get an answer i liked, then i might call in. otherwise, maybe call the neighbor or mmob. catching any fish?

this is probably what they were doing, that way when the party is busted up they can run and not have to worry about their car.

Dang.  All this time I've been letting kids walk up and down my street at night like it was a public right-of-way or something.  They could have been up to anything.

ANYTHING.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say first group of teenagers had some sort of drugs or alcohol and wanted experience the effects of it in a secluded spot. Then they did and summoned 2 other teenagers who thought it sounded like fun and decided to join group 1. Then they did their drugs/alcohol/illegal acts and then left after probably destroying the area they did the acts. Police could have stopped them on the way back to their car and checked them for the effects of said drugs but it looks like there were dogs in the area that needed shooting more.

TL:DR Teenagers gonna teenage. Cops gonna not show.
