My guess is corn snake.  Good for keeping mice down.

It looks to be a milk snake. Could be a corn snake but I need a better pic to decide.

I would rather have him than what he is eating.

catch him and take him outside then seal any openings in the house foundation with foam.

Romex viper. Shockingly venomous. Fast as lightning. Like to be scratched behind the ears.
