A chiropractor that knows what they are doing. ![]() Physical Therapist. People on this site seem to have a hard on for chiropractors. They serve a purpose, but all they do is joint mobilizations, and are usually temporary fixes. A PT has a bag or tools at his/her disposal, and they generally have a lot of experience with pt's with back pain/spasms. |

What he said. Muscle relaxers are the worst thing you can do. The spasm is a defensive reaction to the real problem--IOW a symptom and not the problem. I have had what I considered back spasms and muscle relaxers and narcotic pain killers for a day or two and I was good as new. YMMV |

It will block the pain, you can wear it as long as you want, and you don't have to take mind altering drugs. |

YMMV I've had some good days with muscle relaxants and non-narcotic pain killers when I've had to deal with muscle spasms in my back. |
| I took my last Soma tablet and got my own EMS Rehab Stimulator. Cost me $400 out of pocket and I needed an Rx at the time. I discovered EMS through my chiropractor but PT's use the same device. It was worth every damn dime. Now when they strike, the wife slaps the pads on my back and I dial up the juice, the drugs couldn't even come close to providing the same level of relief. |

What model are you using, if you don't mind me asking? |

Meds serve a purpose too, as does a TENS. I've used everything available over 14 years of back problems. What you need is a professional who can help you develop a game plan. |
