| SO I'm thinking I want to have a flight simulator to play with. What do I need, and where do I get it. Who has made there own? |
| I helped a friend from another forum build one. He was only concerned wth maps of southeast asia and the middle east. He flew them over and over till he could do it by memory. Not long after we finished, he got really in to politics. Come to think of it, I haven't heard from him in a few months. |

Before even attempting that I'd first get into flight sims on your computer if you don't already. There are a few companies that sell each panel for a 737. They have the instruments, buttons, thrust levers, etc but it isn't cheap. There are forums dedicated to home built cockpits. You could start there. It takes a lot of work, knowledge and money. You'll also have very few choices in aircraft unless you plan on fabricating your own panels. So other than that you'll need to know programming and wiring as well as a complete understanding of the aircraft. I think you'd be hard pressed to have someone come over and help. Be prepared to spend quite a bit of time and money for anything decent. A simple google search will bring up some forums, pictures and videos. It definantly isn't a weekend project. |

This is the last place to get info on a home built cockpit. Maybe there's some links to the forums I was talking about. |

And compared to many out there, it is inexpensive. |

I used a X45 (for the throttle) and MS force feedback for a long time and I was very happy with it. CH Products are up there with the warthog and the nice thing about them is you can buy the stick and throttle separately if you want to, |
