When I read Joe Walsh, my initial thought is "Hell yeah!" But to be honest, (as I type this) apart from his time with the Eagles and Life's Been Good, I can't think of anything else he does. Maybe I'll have an "OH YEAH" moment soon and remember all his hits. Funk #49 Rocky mountain way |

True story alert (CSB) Me and my buddy were bar hopping in downtown Cleveland. If you dont know Cleveland has a ton of hole-in-the-wall, upstairs/downstairs no sign bars. You just gotta know to find them. Our nights goal was to, in fact, find them. Midway through our night, walking around, a limo pulls up. The window rolls down and the guy in the back asks us for a light. I smoke and lit my lighter towards the window. A voice says 'hop in'. I look towards my friend and he shrugs, so I shrug and we get in the limo. I give the strange man my lighter and he lights up a joint. Of course, only him and my friend partake because this is ARF and I dont wanna get banned. Midway through their smokeout he (my friend) asks 'Hey man, are you Joe Walsh'?! He was raised on classic rock due to his father. I, on the other hand, only know classic rock from commercial radio. Thus, I fucking cant stand it. He says 'I was wondering if you young guys would recognize me'?! We hang out for a few more blocks and he drops us off to continue our bar hop and we part ways. Total ride was ~45min-1hr. Very cool/nice guy. So thats my JW story. I know, again, CSB.

Me and a few buddies saw him at the Merrillville Star Plaza Theatre in Indiana back around 1997. We were about five or six rows back, IIRC. Pretty good seats.
It was a good concert, but the end was the best. Drunk off our asses, all four of us started chanting "I.L.B.T's" over and over while a few other people started in with it, too. Well waddya know, that nutty fucker comes back out on stage for the encore while wearing a hat with a couple of big ole titties on it. Fucking played the song and everything! I don't know if he based playing the song on what a bunch of drunk fans were chanting, or if it was in the line-up... Either way, it was still cool |

Is he an equal, official member of the Eagles or a hired gun? There are only two "equal, official" Eagles, then everyone else. I did hear either Frey or Hendley say that "When they got Joe Walsh, they finally had a real rock and roll star in the band". ETA. I think was Frey, but Hendley also commented that critics said they "loitered" on stage so Walsh was needed in the band. lol |
