I think he's more conservative than Krispy (although that's not hard to be)- as for the pro gun part yeah, that's a problem.

He said that in 2013. Looks like he's wising up a bit (2014):

Law-abiding citizens absolutely should have gun rights

Ben Carson said he changed his mind and was against gun registration because "sinister internal forces" could surface in that scenario. He "used to think they needed to be registered, but if you register them they just come and find you and take your guns." He said, "I would never advocate anything to interfere with Second Amendment rights; however, I do think we have to be intelligent"ÿand address situations where people with AK-47s are mowing people down.ÿ "We need to discuss, 'Is there something we can do?'ÿ We have to keep in mind that law-abiding American citizens absolutely should have gun rights."

I was going to vote for Herman Cain.  IMO he would of made the best president out of the bunch.  But there was no way the Democraps or the Rebublicans would of allow that.

As soon as he started talking about his 9-9-9 plan and taking out the IRS. I told my SO that they would take him out, they did.

Speaking on that 2013 Beck quote:

"So if Carson wants to run for President, he’ll need to clear all this up.  Interestingly enough, he has been taking steps to do so.  On Monday, he declared himself opposed to gun registration, saying he “used to think they needed to be registered, but if you register them, they just come and find you and take your guns.”

And by “they” he means “pretty sinister internal forces.”  He went on to address his earlier comments about the difference between urban and rural gun ownership, saying he would “never advocate anything to interfere with Second Amendment rights,” affirming that “law-abiding American citizens absolutely should have gun rights.”"

I was just going to post something like this. The replies here remind me of some lonely old spinster with a checklist for the perfect man to marry. It's never gonna happen. So Ben Carson is allegedly anti-gun and pro-Trayvon so he's off the list. And Hillary isn't? Liz Warren? What about BHO?

Keep waiting for Mr. Right, meanwhile in the real world liberals are winning the elections. And they're more likely to actually take action to ban guns.

I'm not some huge Ben Carson fanboy or anything, but I'm also not going to say FBC just because he's not tall enough, or doesn't make enough money, doesn't drive a Mercedes, etc…

He didn't change his mind.  He spoke as guy coming from the ghetto were a Tech9 was seldom seen in a positive light.  He stated a preference based on his experience.  He has never stated the 2A  does not fully apply in America.  Arfcom perpetually overreacts on this,

BHO illustrated that coming from nowhere politically can be done, and allows candidates to conceal their true agenda long enough to get elected. Single issue voters pushed BHO over the top. Dr. C. seems to be taking a more reasoned approach to issues in an attempt to appeal to people's intelligence.... Probably not the best thing to do politically.

I would pick him over Warren or Hillary.

I would not vote for him in the primary.

Seems like a nice guy, but NO, wouldn't vote for him.

I think there is hope for Carson, but he isn't ready to be a candidate.

His stance on firearms leaves me wanting.  And is actually telling of his attitude on freedoms in general.

Let him do 4 years in the senate or a governors mansion and then we can talk.
