Judge Ruth Pickholz set Bishop’s bail at $3,500, which defense attorney Eric Schlosser said his family can’t afford.

Bishop, also a former longtime Times Square Cookie Monster who’s racked up seven other arrests, refused to be fingerprinted while in custody at the Midtown South precinct, according to law enforcement sources.

“F—k that!” he spat at police when they tried to print him.

Assistant District Attorney Samantha Scott requested bail be set at $30,000, citing a prior record for Mr. Bishop that included another panhandling incident on April 2 and the assault of a woman on an A train on April 27.

During the April 2 incident, Mr. Bishop was arrested for soliciting pictures in an aggressive manner, a law-enforcement official said. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon after officers found on knife on him during a search.

In the more recent incident, Mr. Bishop boarded an A train at Rockaway Boulevard and used a knife to intimidate a woman seated next to him, punching her a number of times as she tried to flee, the official said. As the train pulled into Broadway Junction, he began waving the knife in the air as officers attempted to move in and arrest him on the train's platform.

He was charged with reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

A few things that stick out.
First, who wouldn't want to tangle with NYPD
I used to work with some years ago when stationed in NY and I never met a bigger group of retards and that's offensive to retards
Secondly, I have spent some time in NYC in the last few months with my kids and without.  Those dressup characters are very aggressive and I had words with a couple when we were there.
Third, why are females allowed to serve as police in any category outside of receptionist or dispatcher?  I know that's sexist as hell but its the truth.
Hope I didn't cross any COC boundaries.

I don't personally have a problem with this. As long as they've proven they can handle the work. In this case.........not so much

She did use the radio so that 6 other officers could respond.

But they wouldn't have needed 6 other officers to respond if she had been capable of using a reasonable amount of physical force at the beginning.

NYC is a unique entity in that when you call in an 85 or 10-13 (Officer needs assistance), you only need to hold on for a minute or two before you're surrounded by more NYPD. That said, you NEVER rely on backup that isn't there yet. You transmit the assistance call and then get in the damn fight! A perp can brandish a knife and stab you in mere seconds, long before backup arrives... The quicker you end it, the safer it is for all parties involved. That perp had plenty of time to do some damage, especially if he pulled out a knife, while she stood there and watched......
