Downloaded Firefox earlier today and when I open it, it opens up 5 windows.

I have looked and tried to "stare and compare" with a couple of my older computers.

Help! I just want 1 window to open.

Sorry, tabs. Also, "open in new tab" ain't working either.

Go to Settings. Do you have multiple homepages in there?

firefox is old school. upgrade to Chrome

tools > options> general

modify which page you want to have at startup
for the tabs, go to tools > options > tabs

Same here.
I flushed FF for Chrome on all my computers several years ago.
FF became a slow resource hog.

That did it and then I set it to the page I want to open it in. I guess I may have had several pages open when I set it the first time but I have never run into that.

I suspect chrome exists solely so that google has a complete listing of your favorite links.

The NSA has everything you do regardless of browser. Atleast use something that isn't a resource hog.
