Signed up to have a local "Fresh Farm Box" delivered every week.  Yeah its, expensive...probably about 1/3 more than going to the grocery store, but these days I find I rarely have the time to make a quick stop at the supermarket on my way home from work...

In this weeks box there was a bunch of Red Chard...

what the fuck is red chard and how do I prepare it?  Salad?  Saute?  feed it to the dag?

Swiss Chard.

Rinse and drain it, coarsely chop it (leaves and stalks) and set aside.

Cook a couple pieces of bacon and crumble; set aside. Reserve about 1-2T of the fat.

Saute a couple cloves of garlic (or to taste) lightly. Add the chard. Toss over medium heat until it's just wilting.

Dress with lemon juice or a vinaigrette and the bacon bits.

Trust me.

Then you are probably not going to enjoy chard regardless of how it's prepared. Sorry.
