So, my beloved GF decided to wash a dog leash in the washing machine since the puppy that the kids had got had parvo.

Now, the leash is stuck under the agitator and I for the life of me can't figure out a way to get it out or the leash unstuck.

Anyone with some first hand knowledge able to help with getting the agitator off or some tips on getting the leash unstuck?

GE Washer GLWN5050M0WS

So far, google hasn't been any help.

Looks like you need to remove the fabric softener dispenser and then a hex head 1/4 20 to lift the agitator/pulsator off.

I haven't the slightest clue how to get that part off.

I tried just simply.... tugging on it real good, but no dice.

Should have a video on disassembly for that type of washer.

look like you rotate counter clockwise about 60deg and lift it right up.

You will want to use a rope and slide it up underneath the agitator and pull up. You may have to work it around to get it to pop off the agitator coupling.

No real agitator. But I think I've got it now.

Many thanks for the help fellas.

The leash is removed, and we've got a fresh load going.
