City water doesn't guarantee good water. If you've got high mineral content, the anode may have been shot years ago ... and that means the tank wall was the next thing to go. Its my neighbors water heater and her husband is out of town. Her pilot light went out and she was concerned about leaking. I told her that i didn't see any signs of the tank being corroded or compromised, but I'm not a water heater engineer and i don't want to give bad advice. I could install a new one in an hour though so I'm just wondering if this ones worth the trouble. We dont have poor water either. Im on houston water and its quite good. |

Pilot lights go out all the time for any number of reasons. I'd be a nice guy and flush/drain the tank while it's off, then refill it and relight the pilot light. If it ain't broke... |

If you need fap material you'll have to ask her husband for pics since I'm not at liberty to give up photos of somebody else's wife... |
