I consider a camera drone a breach of my right to privacy.  Disregarding problems from shooting one down in a town or city, would you shoot one down over your house if it were legal?

Courts have ruled repeatedly that you have no expectation of privacy when out in public.

Private property is not public, especially when surrounded by woods and not seen from the road or 2 of my neighbors during the warmer months.

I would shoot it down.

So you own the navigable airspace above your home?

I'm thinking that the drone is secondary, find the van and operator.

So, what exactly is your definition of a drone?

Within a reasonable distance. It also depends on the OPs definition of "drone".

You don't own the airspace above your home

Time to buy a big camo net and put it over the house...wonder if it would upset the neighbors.

Well, more than they already are.

If you don't live in the suburbs being outdoors on your property can be private.

OP, sorry but that is a really dumb question on your part.  How would it be legal to shoot a drone down?  It's certainly not legal to shoot down the planes/helicopters with cameras that currently fly over your house?  I do not believe it is legal to shoot down a spy satellite over your house?  How would it EVER be legal to shoot down a drone which is property owned by somebody and in public airspace?  Similar to saying you would shoot at a car driving on the public roadway in front of your house.

Outside the walls of your home is public as far as being viewed is concerned.

Yeah, it sucks.
