Hey all! Long time lurker that finally got himself an AR. Got out of Jersey and moved to Vegas. Perfect reason to buy an AR, right? Had her about a month now. About 250rnds through so far.

Details:

New Frontier Armory lower, Black Hole weaponry ss, 1:8, barrel, YHM front sight, Magpul rear sight, B5 Systems keymod forearm. I'm thinking sub 6lb rifle (no scale but slightly heavier than 5lb dumbbell). Paid $660 complete.

Honest Review:

I did have to take her back twice but NFA fixed it no questions asked. Top notch quality customer service! It was stupid things too that I would have fixed myself but being it was new I figured let them fix it without me making it possibly worse. One reason was the bolt lock (for lack of a better term) by the feed ramps had a sharp finished edge. It would grab the projectile and wouldn't allow the cartridge to slide smoothly into battery when pulling the charging handle. A little polishing fixed that right up. The other was a disconnector issue. I would get random double taps upon trigger reset and failure to reset the trigger. The hammer would just follow the bolt back down without locking back. But like I said, they took the rifle back and had the issue fixed the next day.

Since then, I put another 80rnds downrange with no issues. So how does it shoot?

This was at 100yds, on a bench with iron sights using Independence 55 grain xm193; the best I could do with my eyes. I'm happy with it.

Here's a pic of the arsenal complete with tactical toes!

The 1942 Mosin isn't bad either. Here's the result using 35yr old surplus 148 grain steel core ammo:

The shotgun is a Browning Silver Hunter 3" with 28" barrel. Mostly a skeet, stand and clay gun but did get me a couple turkey dinners and got rid of a pesky ground hog. Over 1500 shells through her and can count on my fingers how many failures. All of them have been feeding issues where the shell gets stuck between the tube and the barrel. A touch of the slide release gets the job done.

The XD40 is G2G. Couple thousand through her. Just get some pesky last round slide lock back surprises due to weak mag springs (empty gun=paper weight)

Sig P250 is wifey's. 9mm with DAO trigger. Me no likey... DAO trigger is not for me but the pistol functions flawlessly.

And yeah, I know the rules. I mentioned wifey sooo.
