Yesterday, I found myself scratching my right arm by the shoulder a lot. Went into bathroom lifted sleeve. Two red dots in the middle of a quarter sized area raised up about 1/4 inch, surrounding it was a star burst of red lines under raised skin. Arm hot to the touch at the affected area. Over the course of 2 hours the lines migrated around my arm, under my arm pit to my trunk and dissipated. Google says that was venom, likely spider. Watch wound, nothing happens, go to bed. Today same fucking thing on left arm after sitting in same location (I work from home), hot to touch, raised wound, red itchy migrating lines, consistent with google images of spider bite, right arm wound now has a small pit in it.
Walking through my kitchen and I noticed a very small spider on the floor. I stomped the shit out of...then wished I didn't before pictures. Sorry for the crap pics but the thing is tiny, the camera has a hard time focusing on it. Is this is my the cause? If so, what is it? http://imgur.com/a/VFGm0 Edit: you can't it see in the pics but looking at it with the naked eye, I can see the fangs and they are the same distance apart as the two red dots on both my arms. Likely the source, interested in what sort of spider. Location is Indiana if that helps. |

Quoted: Fuck me. The thing is about the size of a pencil eraser. If it is a recluse, do I need worry about it if it's that small? Quoted: Fuck me. The thing is about the size of a pencil eraser. If it is a recluse, do I need worry about it if it's that small? I'd be more worried about the condition of the bite than the size of the spider. Quoted: Actually, dude, if you ever have red streaks from an infection that is hot to the touch ALWAYS go to the ER or urgent care. That. |

To heck if I know what it was. But did it look like this before it got all crushed? They do exist in Indiana. In fact, one of them used to exist in your kitchen. |

Worry? Not really, depends on your reaction to the bite. They're like bees, some people have mild reaction, other people slough off 5lbs of skin when necrosis kicks in. Antibiotic cream has NO effect, it's only to treat the secondary infection from the necrosis.
I had a mild reaction, but it itched as bad as chiggers, but in a single spot and it itched for days. The bite site became inflamed every summer for about 5 years after too... and itched again, but not as bad. Edit: yeah, red streaks go to ER. |
