I know it's been discussed before, but after watching it again,
I enjoyed it. Yeah, it's unbelievable, the dialog is stilted, and
the effects are over the top. But for pure escapism, it's pretty
damn good!! Even K.R. fits his role, his way of talking seems
to fit right in the story line.
Flame away!!

Alittle silly how Neo dispatches the baddest dude in the Matrix in just a matter of seconds after he literally becomes "the one". And then in the 2nd movie, he spent like 10 minutes beating up a bunch garbage in the main entrance of a mansion. It wasn't all that consistent from one movie to the next.

Correct, the Matrix is the one and only film.

Sadly it premiered the same weekend that Equilibrium did and killed it!

I have still never seen any of the Matrix movies.

I can see where they were trying to go, but the script sucked for 2 & 3.

2 and 3 were just so far over the top that they didn't really go with the first one.

FIrst was great, 2nd sucked, 3rd was ok.

The movie tried to be serious but the fixation on long black coats and sunglasses made it hard to take it as such.

I enjoyed them all to varying degrees. There really was no way the Wachowskis could have duplicated the brain screw they'd done in the first movie, but they did a good job of providing a couple of solid follow on movies.

The matrix trilogy is like watching a toilet flush in reverse.   At first it is this swirling vortex of awesome, then in the end you are just left with a steaming dookie.

Correct. There is the Matrix, and then there are two deliberate punishments on the viewing public by the transgendered Wachowski brother.

Chew on this.

The matrix is actually a double matrix. How do Neo's powers work in the "real world"?

The real world we see is actually the second layer created to give those people that want out a place to go.

Don't overthink it, clearly the guys writing those putrid sequels didn't.

I saw the first one in the theater, I had not seen any previews nor did I know anything about it.

I was blown away by the whole thing. Only to be let down 2 more times

The only thing worse than the Matrix sequels were the Highlander sequels.
Speaking of the Matrix:

First one was very good, helluva concept if nothing else. The others blew. Carrie Anne Moss in skin tight leather....better than any of the movies.

The first one was good, the 2nd was bleh, and the 3rd was ok.

I rooted for Agent Smith though, so im not the average fan.

There is no trilogy, only one Matrix movie.

Matrix 2 & 3 are just a bunch of cool special FX scenes tied together with a bunch of boring and irrelevant explanation scenes and filled in with some other irrelevant story lines.
