I am going to get a projector for the basement.  I have an egress window on one end, likely I will put a pull down screen in front of it.  I have up to ~20' throw distance, if needed.  I should be able to get the room dark, but not blackout during the day.  I'm looking at a 106-120" screen.

Primarily for home theater, occasionally for playoffs or annual Super Bowl party.

I am zeroing in on two projectors, and appreciate help or alternate recommendations you can give me.  Each of these projectors is $1300 street price.  That's the maximum I'm willing to spend.  I'm trying to avoid DLP due to the rainbow effects reported by some.  My dad had a DLP TV, and I never noticed the rainbows, but I don't want to assume all my guests will be as fortunate.  So, LCD is what I'm looking at.

Choice #1 = Panasonic PT-AR100U

Bright, high ratings.

Choice #2 = Epson 8350

Not as bright, very well reviewed, but has a ton or reports of the dreader Auto Iris error.  It's not obvious if this has been fixed in the newer versions, so this makes me weary.
