If we did only go Since we only went into Iraq for oil, do you have a problem with it being the reason you got sent there?
I don't really see it as being an issue due to the fact that it was for U.S. interests and we practically drink the stuff. I do find it funny that liberal dip-shits bitch about it, yet still use stuff that either contains petroleum or the only reason they have it is because of oil/gas. |

I went to liberate the hordes of nubile, westernized, olive-skinned-britney-spears-lookalike fuckbunnies.
So, yeah, I'm a little peeved about that particular mischaracterization.... But the oil thing? Nah, my Jeep gets like -8 mpg, so I figure that was in my best interest. |

I volunteered for my Iraq tour because I was a professional solder, its the fight that's important and my soldiers lives not some elected nitwit in Washington.
And I wanted to turn counterinsurgency theory into practice. Lastly, I was afraid to be called a coward, practically my entire unit went except for one NCO. I often wondered what he was thinking. |

Quoted:
It's too bad our guys who were killed for cheap gas don't get to vote in this poll. They voted the same way any of the rest of us did. Its called enlisting, and it was not for cheap fuckin gas. Saddam violated cease fire agreements, and even tried to kill a former U.S. President. He was a threat, a very real threat in a post 9/11 world and forcibly removing him and his government was inevitable. Plenty of guys here who put boots to Iraqi sand can tell you that we did indeed find WMD's. Just look at the Iraq picture thread for proof. Those same guys will tell you that not a fuckin one of them fought for oil or Bush or any of that other bullshit, they fought for the guys next to them. But I am pretty sure you dont know what the fuck that means. |

If so, why did they feel the need to drum up some bullshit story about WMDs? Maybe this is just another example of the government knowing what's best for everyone. Shit, for reals?! I must have missed those.

Stomping the shit out of Saddam was IMHO the right thing to do, especially after being part of the 03 invasion and talking to Iraqi's as well as being able to go through UN weapons inspectors documents in Hans Blix's office after we took back the UN building. |

Fact: The UN inspectors identified tons of unaccounted for, pre-1991 WMD
Fact: Saddam could not/would not provide proof of THAT WMD's destruction or current location. Fact: This was one of the reasons why we invaded. Fact: Over the course of the next several years, we found tons of WMD hidden in buried caches. Fact: Hippies and other Leftists move the goal posts and insist that pre-1991 WMD doesn't count. |

We didnt go there for oil. We went there to protect the petrodollar. The same reason we "helped" get rid of Gaddafhi in Libya. You think that Arab spring came out of nowhere?

I guess maybe I feel differently since I was part of the invasion, and grew up during the lead up and execution of GW1... But yea... Stomping the shit out of Saddam was IMHO the right thing to do, especially after being part of the 03 invasion and talking to Iraqi's as well as being able to go through UN weapons inspectors documents in Hans Blix's office after we took back the UN building. I just find it hard to believe that those brainless idiots had WMDs during the inspections, and had the skill to coordinate the removal of them before the US invasion. Were the documents ever made public? |
