I have an older Super 7 Motherboard in my computer.
I just upgraded my computer from a 400Mhz to a 500.  I know WOW what an upgrade! but I had to get a new processor because my last one was fried when the fan died for the 5th time.

ANYWAY.
There is a series of dip switches to set the mother board to the processor used.

At the time the computer was NEW, 400Mhz was THE highest thing out there.

My question is: Does anyone know the dip switch setting for a 500Mhz processor?

I called the company (Tiger Direct) and couldn't even get past the operator, and she was VERY RUDE.

The actual name of the
Mother board is
GA-5AX (Rev 4)
ALi Aladdin V AGPset
Super 7 Mainboard.

Since 400Mhz was "the bomb" at the time the book stops at 400Mhz.

I now have a K62 500Mhz pc 100 Processor.

HEY THANKS The_Beer_Slayer.

That isn't what I was looking for(what you posted in the second post) but the web site showed me what was looking for.

Dip switches 1-8 and the 4 jumper positions.

I'll try it later this week (I am a very lazy man).

Again thanks for the help.

glad i could help.

Just for the record if that p500 is stable try to bump it up around 733. I have had several than ran well at 700+ a few that came close to 900 before being unstable. If you overclock ADD FANS!

I don't think I'll need to over clock it.

I am VERY satisfied with my 400/500Mhz computer.
I don't have any problems (in the past) playing games like Rainbow 6, and the only real problem that I encounter is the 56K modem being slow. Dial-up IS slow.

I was going to go cable modem, but that would have made my monthly cable bill $85. and I don't need that.

It's a K6, not a Pentium or Athlon...

Don't overclock a K6/2 500 to 733... You can't, anyhow...
