This guy just posted this add on a local forum. .22 ammo $65 a brick, says he has a friend who works at bi-mart and has more ammo coming. What a fuck stain, bi-mart has had no .22 for over a year here and this dick is bragging about getting their ammo out the back door. I know capitalism and all but fuck him I hope he chokes on it.

Just a matter of time... ATK is sending out orders for youth programs through the end of April. Once those orders are complete I would be willing to bet supply will increase. They allocated 3 cases per club and 10 cases per camp. In Ohio there are at least two camps and 75 clubs. That's over 1.25 million rounds just to Ohio, how many other states have clubs and camp that got in on this limited program? Once those orders are filled, that production will be headed to the retail chain and should help. |
I have already started selling all my .22 guns and ammo. It's only fun at .03 to.05 a round. After that I would rather spend the extra and get a real caliber. I don't see .22 coming back down to fun prices again for a long time, so I am out . If it ever comes back down I will get another .22, but until then I am not scrounging for crap ammo at .14 a round  . Hell I had trouble paying .08 a round for CCI mini-mags before this B.S.

I scored some 22 at Walmart last weekend for a guy I work with. He has been wanting to take his boy shooting and can't find ammo. This is a guy who last year (prior to June 30th of course) gave me half a dozen GI mags that he had found in a rental property. So when I saw 22 on the shelf I bought him three boxes (375-count golden bullet) and just gave them to him.
After I bought mine, there were three left. The neckbeard behind the counter bought them. I'm sure he buys some every time they get a shipment, and I'm sure he's turning around and selling them on Armslist. Really makes me mad and it ought to make Walmart mad, too. They would probably much rather sell the ammo to people who shop at the store and will spend money buying other things, than to dipshits who just come in to buy ammo and flip it - and especially to employees. |

In the last couple of months I've purchased 2x 500 rounds of CCI Blazer from Cabellas for, IIRC 7 cents a round delivered, and I wasn't really trying, just clicked over and they had it in stock. Shot some Thursday. Seemed a tad dirty but otherwise was fine. |
| What really chaps my ass about this guy is bi-mart and big-5 are the only retailers that sell ammo in town. Bi-mart is the best of the two in my opinion and has fairly reasonable prices. Currently they have a 500 round limit on .22. If its all going g out the back door to this ass hat it pisses me off. |

I haven't seen 22 for sale since sandy hook, Walmart is the only place in town that carries it at a decent price, the other two were high before all this and now they dont even get any in.. The next stores I know of are 90 miles away. This is a self perpetuating problem because the next I see 22 for sale at 6c a round Im backing the truck up. I do see the end in sight though. It is now always available online and the price seems to be dropping a penny a round every two to 3 weeks. At that rate it may be 5cr by about October or November. |

Back 4 or 5 years about half the lots I got were horrible with duds and flyiers , just real lousy stuff . any better these days? If it says "new and improved" inside a yellow star type thing then the primer issue they had is fixed with those. Not near as bad as it used to be for plinking ammo. Still not the greatest accuracy but I wouldnt pass on it these days whereas i would on the older stuff. |

However... nothing illegal about going to the store and letting the manager know. After all, if the neckbearder's cohort was risking his job and the manager just didn't know about it, why not let the free market take care of it? At the last place I worked, I received a HUGE discount on everything in stock. HUGE. Like 5% over wholesale cost (which didn't include costs to get it onsite). I knew that that discount was for my consumption and my consumption only, not to turn around and make a profit from, especially so if I had taken 100% of a stock item. |

I had no problem finding as much as I wanted to buy by the case pre-panic. Remember, we had a panic in the late '07-08-09 time frame as well. I just went to look my camper over, it has been in storage since Nov of 2012. I forgot I have another 3 cases of .Blazer 22LR bulk packs that I bought on our way back from Knob Creek in 2012 sitting under the seats. The receipt showed 137.47/ case of 5500 rds. This was purchased between the first election and SH. I learned from past panic's and will NEVER be caught short on anything I shoot on a regular basis. The only ammo I don't have a decent amount of, that I own a gun for, is .22mag and 44-40 Win. I only have a NAA Pug that shoots the .22 mag and while I don't own it, (my dad does), I have my great great grandfathers 1873 in 44-40 in my safe and that may get shot once every 5 years. Learn from the past and you'll be set for the future shortages...and there will be future shortages. Start saving now, once you see pallets sitting on the floor of major retailers, back your truck, car or trailer up to the door. Then you can sit out and not be forced to pay higher prices and better yet...not contribute to the future panic.

Personally, I haven't had to buy a single round of .22 since the shortage began, I suppose you'd expect me to sell some of my stash to you at cost? And, as a matter of fact, I am EXTREMELY proud of myself, my kids can go out and shoot anytime they want.
Get your kids into a shooting sports club (4-H, CMP affiliate or BSA). ATK offered ammo to clubs last month so there is no reason any club shouldn't be able to shoot a full schedule. Our club just took delivery of 15K at 16.10/brick, 494.25 for the whole order, shipped to my door. |
