I borrowed a Maglula Benchloader from another ARFcommer, and loaded mags for a qual this weekend. 15 mags in 10 minutes and my fingers feel great.

Is there anything else out there that works decent and isn't $450, or do I have to break out the mill?

Is not, it's $450.

It's fucking sweet. I may have to mill out a "different" style one.

A tad too young.

My 5 year old does unstrip M855 though.

Yup. I've used a Lula loader for AR mags and an uplula for pistol mags for a whole bunch of pistol and carbine classes, and love both of them. Like electronic hearing protection, they're "luxuries" that I won't go to a class without.

I keep hoping Dillon will make a mag loading attachment for their various presses.  Or at least the XL650, which I have.

That would be a very cool accessory.

The original design that its patterned after was made for the Stoner 63 magazines and they are $1,500 or more now.

I have wanted one of the Maglula Bench loaders but I just don't see $450 of plastic in it. I have considered trying to make my own but never seem to get around to the project.

StripLULA is probably the best cheaper alternative, works great even with loose ammo.

It's the reason M855 is on clips

If I was buying one I'd try a Cammenga Easyloader , I have one of their 9mm ones for a 9mm AR and it works great and it's like $30

I have used the Beta-C stripper loader for years. It works great.
