As some of you may remember, I like to cook simple yet tasty meals.  This one is very simple, but tastes great.

You will need 4 or 5 pork chops.  I prefer the boneless ones.

Here’s the recipe:

Pork Chops and Rice

1 Cup rice
1 Can, Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 Pack Lipton Dry Onion Soup
2 Cups water

Mix all ingredients and place in a rectangular dish.

Lay 4 or 5 boneless pork chops on top.

Sprinkle with Toni Chachere’s Seasoning

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until the rice is done.

Start out with the soup and dry mix.

I mix the rice, water, dry onion soup mix, and one can of cream of mushroom soup in a bowl to allow me to mix it up well with a whisk.

(Just as a side note, I don’t really even like mushrooms, but when this is cooked, you can’t even tell it has mushrooms in it.)

I then pour it into a rectangular dish.

Then place the pork chops on top.  They will sink in a little, but no problem.

I then sprinkle a little Toni’s Seasoning on them.  You could also use pork rub or even steak seasoning.

Then in the oven at 350 degrees for about one hour.  Test the rice to be sure it is cooked and soft.

And here it is after it is cooked.

And then on the plate with some vegetables and beans.  Some of my canned peppers from my garden.  A glass of sweet tea to finish it off.

Real easy to make and tastes great. And it's one of my wife's favorite meals.....One that she doesn't have to cook.

Accompanied by my CZ Shadow and my favorite knife.

Excuse me, I need to eat.

I would say 7/10 for not including reloads or a long gun....

I didn't add any salt.

Tony Chachere has 310mg of salt per serving.  A 3.25 oz container has 92 servings.  It's basically all salt.

We made that with chicken. Called it Fluffy Chicken & Rice. The mix up in wording happened as kids and it stuck.

My mom made a similar meal for my brother and I growing up. Didn't use the onion soup and instead cooked the chops in a slow cooker after searing.

To this day, it is one of my absolute favorites. I am sure the onion soup makes it better, but will be sticking with the meal I grew up with. Entirely for sentimental reasons.

My mother used to make smothered pork chops, they were smothered in rice, which had onion, celery and stewed tomatoes mixed in, I'm not sure exactly what was in it but it was delicious, I wish I had the recipe!

So how many pork chops would it take to stop a 9mm?

Plus the packet of lipton onion soup has 2,440mg sodium and the campbells soup has 440mg per half cup.

The food looks yummy OP but has too much packaged crap for my liking.
