What distance? How did you get on him, calling, baiting, luck? Were you set up or driving around? I love a good coyote shooting story. 100-150 yards. My buddy and I have hunting access to a medium sized farm about 5 miles east of Denver International Airport. The owner calls us anytime she hears coyotes barking. We were 90 minutes away in Fort Collins eating at my house Saturday at 8:30pm when his phone rang with a coyote report. We promptly tossed all the half eaten dinner plates in my fridge, emptied half the gun safe into the trunk of my Honda, and hauled ass (cue the Benny Hill song for a visual of us packing the car). We got down there about 10:30ish, and saw a bunny near the farm house as we did our initial scouting. We zapped him with the suppressed Ruger 22-45, and decided used him as live bait ( Bugs was still alive, as we spined shot him ). After the initial scouting, we decided based on wind and the verbal report of the farmer to setup near a old barn about 1/2 mile away on the other side of the farm. The Foxpro was setup about 50 yards away from us next to Bugs (still twitching). After about 10 minutes of calling, my buddy spots 2 coyotes coming in, and when they both stopped to sniff and investigate the ruckus we were making, I'll nailed the asshole on the left. Shot made a real nice WHUMP when I hit em. Couldn't swing fast enough to nail his buddy, but I wasn't going to complain after getting a solid kill. We later went to the other end of the farm and tried calling, but Wily's friends decided they didn't want to play anymore that night That's ok, we'll be out there again next weekend, weather permitting. |

With all that graffiti it looks like you may have other targets nearby. ![]() That's what I was going to say. Where the hell are you? Already answered that. The farm in question isn't that far from a main road, and I suspect some of the local gangs from Aurora (about 15-20) minutes away have occasionally stopped by to use the barn to smoke weed and generally fuck around, as the barn is fairly isolated from any of the other buildings in the area. |

LOL. I was telling my hunting partner that if we saw any taggers, they were fair game. His response was " I wonder what call we should program in the Foxpro for taggers " ![]() Quoted:

Save your nickles and pennies (or sue the fuck out of some rich asshole ), and buy a clip on thermal like a T-50, T-60, or T-70. Thats the ULTIMATE in night critter removal.
