I have a virus that no amount of scanning is working on,  when I go to play music or any thing with sound, after a few seconds it sounds like static from a radio and a news broadcast all at once.

I have used windows defender, avg and webroot with no luck so far

Sure it's not a driver issue or your sound hardware taking a shit?

This.  Could be drivers, could be the sound card going south, could be a corrupt DLL in your media software.  I'd try reinstalling your media software first.

That makes it sound more like drivers/hardware and less like a virus, actually.

Have you checked task manager to see if it shows something running?

Malwarebytes. It's fantastic! And at $27.99 it's cheap, especially when you consider you get a LIFETIME subscription to ALL updates.

1. Go to your device manger and remove the audio device
2. Go into your drivers and remove the audio driver
3. From your provider, reinstall the audio driver
4. From your control panel, add a new device and let the wizard find your audio device and reinstall it.

Check the windows event log and see what messages are in there.

It's a virus/malware, had one a while back.  Try Adaware.  Open task manager and check all of the running processes, google whichever you do not know for certain are okay.

Update Malwarebytes, your antivirus, and SuperAntiSpyware.

Reboot into Safe mode.

Scan with Malwarebytes, your antivirus, and SuperAntiSpyware.

If no virus is found, delete and reinstall per Trapster100 above.

Malwarebytes?

It sounds like a driver issue more than malware.
