I can't stand these things, however my house was built with several of these fixtures and i would like to swap to normal edison fixtures. how involved is this and has anyone done it before? I have some of the adapters to allow me to use the new cree LEDs but with the adapter it adds a bit too much length, so i would like to swap the sockets if it isn't too big of a pain in the ass.
