Have a variety of weedeaters, leaf blowers, chainsaws. I mix 50:1 for the oil, if that tells you anything.
I am interested in which fuel additive the hive thinks is the best to remove the alcohol and stablize the fuel and kept the engine clean. the dealer recommended Star Tron, I have seafoam, staybil, techroline, bg 44 and berrymans chemtool. I know some are just fuel system cleaners and some are fuel stabilizers. Thoughts and recommendations? |

After learning that my local Stihl dealer buys their fuel from the local airstrip, I now run 100LL with the usual amount of 2-cycle oil. I was running Klotz until I ran out, now I use the Stihl stuff (high performance). I now run 100LL through all of my 2-cycle and 4-cycle small gasoline engines (Honda generator, log splitter, chain saws, water pumps, etc.). No fuel additives needed, and it has awesome shelf life. |
| I use puregas.org to find ethanol free gas, and store with Seafoam. But if you must use E10, I've heard good things about "Ethanol Shield".http://www.b3cfuel.com/products/ethanol-shield/ |
| I use Sea foam or Lucas ethanol treatment. The cost associated to this during the summer is really quite a bit of a pain in the ass. The ethanol plays hell with fuel lines. IIRC sea foam is one ounce to a gallon and comes in a 16 ounce can. That can does not have a measure window so it's easy to over or under do it. I noticed if you over do it with these additives your more prone to foul plugs in outboards. JMHO. |
