Have a variety of weedeaters, leaf blowers, chainsaws.  I mix 50:1  for the oil, if that tells you anything.
I am interested in which fuel additive the hive thinks is the best to remove the alcohol and stablize the fuel and kept the engine clean.

the dealer recommended Star Tron, I have seafoam, staybil, techroline, bg 44 and berrymans chemtool.  I know some are just fuel system cleaners and some are
fuel stabilizers.

Thoughts and recommendations?

I've used seafoam in all my gas small engines. (And automotive) not had a gas related issue since doing so. I'm sure the others will work ok too but no experience with them.

I run the synthetic stihl stuff in all my equipment, over 50 different pieces get run all day every day and it has drastically reduced maintenance cost.  No more spark arresters getting clogged or carb issues.

+1 for Seafoam

I usually have some mix for the saws and trimmer that sits the winter with Seafoam in it. Never had a problem using it when it warms up again.

Either buy non-ethanol gas or be sure to start them at least weekly and flush the stale stuff out of the carb.

If you buy Echo red armor oil - it has additives to stabilize fuel , make it mix better with alcohol blends , and agents to help keep engine clean

Best mix oil I've found

After learning that my local Stihl dealer buys their fuel from the local airstrip, I now run 100LL with the usual amount of 2-cycle oil. I was running Klotz until I ran out, now I use the Stihl stuff (high performance). I now run 100LL through all of my 2-cycle and 4-cycle small gasoline engines (Honda generator, log splitter, chain saws, water pumps, etc.).

No fuel additives needed, and it has awesome shelf life.

I use puregas.org to find ethanol free gas, and store with Seafoam. But if you must use E10, I've heard good things about "Ethanol Shield".http://www.b3cfuel.com/products/ethanol-shield/

I use Sea foam or Lucas ethanol treatment. The cost associated to this during the summer is really quite a bit of a pain in the ass. The ethanol plays hell with fuel lines. IIRC sea foam is one ounce to a gallon and comes in a 16 ounce can. That can does not have a measure window so it's easy to over or under do it. I noticed if you over do it with these additives your more prone to foul plugs in outboards. JMHO.

I just use non ethanol fuel and never have any problems. At the end of the summer I will add Sta-Bil to the tanks, run then for a bit and put them away for the winter. If I can shut the fuel supply off I will do that then run the carb dry.
