I have an Android phone and work gave me a iPhone
The iPhone sucks, Screen is small and the OS pretty dumbed down. About the only good thing is the battery last a little longer, but that's probably because I have the GPS and Wi-Fi turned off. |

What does Android do that iOS doesn't? NFC, wireless charging, accessible file system, side load apps, choice of screen sizes, choice of phone quality/prices, standardized cables can be used. There are more. But I don't want to waste time. You will just make excuses why these things aren't that important. |

Oh that on pisses me off Ever other device I carry with me uses a standard cable (and charger) But I have to have to make sure I carry an odd ball cable for the iphone. That is down right stupid as hell . |

how about the apple having aftermarket support? usually having Apps out first. Sometimes years first. Yes iTunes sucks. But I rarely use it. I have both and find the android almost unusable. Its really just personal preference. Back in the day I used sony/ericson phones while just about everyone else used Nokia. The OS for the Nokia was so different I had a hard time using them. |

Legit reasons Most people don't know about half of them, nor would they use them, but very much so legit reasons. And you missed having card slots |

Nothing that you can do with an android, that you can't do with an iphone, matters to me in the slightest. I don't consider my phone to be the gadget that I must tweak and customized endlessly. It's not a hobby, it's a utilitarian instrument to me. I use it to make phone calls and it has a few apps that are actually useful and relevant to me. I don't need it to be customized to the nth degree and do things I've never even heard of. My iphone is fine by me. I am completely satisfied with it. |

What does Android do that iOS doesn't? not be gay. BOOOM Yeah, I had to chose a few months back and I went with the 4S. I'm glad I did, although the argument is a classic Ford vs Chevy style... I keep my 4S fairly controlled and it's been good so far. I did also go out of my way to condition the battery which I think has helped quite a bit with a charge lasting a decent time. |

I haven't used sd cards in my phone for a while. But I can see that being important for some. I don't care about removable batteries either. But some do. (options are good) |

| I'm an Android girl - I like being able to customize my phone. Work gave me an iPhone. The only good thing I can say about it is that the battery life is good. Of course that could be because I refuse to use it more than necessary. Frankly the most use it gets is connecting to our internal Sametime chat so I can talk to my co-workers. Generally I want to throw the iPhone out a window. I almost sent it back when I found out I couldn't change the keyboard. Hate having 2 sets of chargers, just more shit to pack and lose. Not the phones fault necessarily, but the service in our buildings sucks so bad that I have to create a hotspot with my Android so I can use the iPhone. (iPhone is AT&T and Android is Verizon) |
|
What I like about iPhone is that if a company has made an app, they made it for iOS first.
I can walk into any store and there are rows upon rows of accessories for it. I have not had nearly the problems I did with Android phones. Their customer service has been good to me. I like how I can walk into a store front and actually speak to a company rep. My iPhone 5 works flawlessly with my MacBook Pro, the kid's iPad Minis, my work iPhone 5c, and the Apple TV. |

If you see a really old person that has a smartphone, 9/10 times, its an iPhone. Probably because by the time they have got that far, they know what is actually important in life. But by default, does that make Android users the new hipsters? And why does it seem like it's the Android crowd who cares so much about this and are always starting these threads? |

iPhones more way more sense if you are in the OS X ecosystem. For example, I make lectures in Keynote on my Mac - save to iCloud, then then open the file on my laptop, iPhone or iPad when I get to class.
iOS is a steaming turd if you are a Windows / Office user. |
| I have an Iphone 5 from my company and I got my wife a Samsung Galaxy S4 for Christmas this year. I would much rather have her Samsung than my iphone. It has a bigger display, you can actually expand the memory, it's simple to create and set ringtones, the processor has a much faster clock speed. |

Aside from your over use of the word "more", I agree with you. |

I agree. If you have everything Apple already, an iPhone is more sensible. That's an awfully expensive proposition though. |

The iPhone/iTunes combo is great for people who like things like AOL Rofl. Get the Android if you're somewhat nerdy/tech savvy. Get the iPhone if you want a generic 'cool kid' phone. On that thought I am considering getting my wife an iPhone, simple because she is not super tech savvy. It's a step up from a dumb phone, and would still let her be able to check her e-mail. |

Lol The point is, all of your complaints can be done on an iphone, including not paying twice for a song and ringtone Sure, apple will sell you a ringtone premade, but that's just a way to get extra money. You don't have to buy them You wanna droid, go right ahead, but what you think you know about iphones is wrong |
