Beans or no beans?
The world knows the correct way to eat chili (no beans) but the chili dog is a different animal. What say ye? |

I like cincy style "chili" the best on hotdogs...though I don't really consider it chili. In fact, I would never eat it unless I was using it as a topping, but it goes great on dogs, and dare I say, spaghetti noodles.
ETA for chili that is served on its own, I prefer beans though. |

I have told this story before...
Was hungover heading up the mountain in Colorado some years ago. Friend needed to stop at the AT&T store out a ways in a strip center. There is this guy with a hotdog cart. I get two with chili, without really looking at what the guy was doing. A chili dog is a chili dog, right? We get in the truck, I am looking forward to my hangover cure and off we go. A few miles down the road I open my treasure. WTF! What are beans doing on my chili dog? I tried to make the best of it but the bean juice makes it inedible and the beans just slide around and fall off. Really? Ended up tossing them at the next stop. |
