I ordered a fueurhand kerosene lantern on Jan 24 and paid the same day. There was an estimated delivery date of feb3 from Germany. By feb 7th I had not received the lantern, and tracking hadn't been updated since Jan 30. I contacted the seller, and they said "wait a few days, it's probably held up in customs". Today I checked and still no tracking update. It's been 20 days since I paid. Should I demand a refund? ( seller claims they can't track the package once it's in the US.)
Eta- seller somehow has 100% feedback with 5 neg and 4 neutral in the last year.

Did the tracking show it coming leaving Germany?

It probably got hung up in customs.

IMO, it's too early for that.

Estimated shipping times are just that - estimates.

Personally, I'd give it at least another 10 days.

The longer you wait before demanding a refund, the more "reasonable" you appear - and the more likely you are to have the dispute settled in your favor.

I have had flashlight parts get hung up in customs for over 30 days before.

It sucks.

No, the only tracking info shows the package still in Germany.

German Customs sucks.

It's in customs. I order stuff from Germany a lot for work, and it frequently takes 30-45 days.

I sold something to a guy in Norway. My package has been sitting in a sorting facility in Jamaica New York for 2-1/2 weeks now. I hope the buyer doesn't get too upset.
