Were loved tender by the IRS this year?

Just had my taxes done, ended up owing $1100 bucks. Just no break for a single guy with no fucking crotch fruit and 2 jobs. Enjoy the fruits of my labor you fucking ghetto goblins!

Oh and FBHO for good measure.

I had to take a $5,000 loan out of my 401(k) to pay my fucking taxes this year.  Fuck the IRS.

$2,000 back.  single, no kids yea I know its not that much but better than getting bent over.

My taxes are usually within $200 of break even each year.  I calculate withholding if it strays beyond that and make sure I'm taking the correct number of deductions on my w4.

You got a $1,100 interest free loan from the state comrade !

I expect a small refund (less than $1k).  I'm trying to get my withholding allowances set where I can break even but they keep changing the damn rules on me and I don't want to end up writing them a check.

I think I'm the only guy at my kids daycare who actually pays cash. The rest of the folks seem to be using some sort of special assistance program that runs on a separate credit card terminal.

I spent a little over $6,000 on daycare this year.

Only got to claim $1,200 of the daycare expenses. Single Dad, one ok income, but not anything great, pretty lean with 2 kids.

That's about the only silver lining to it, this is the first year they weren't making interest off of my dime. May fucks still be upon them. This country needs a flat tax in the worst way.

Another example of how "getting money back" fools people.

The important number is the final amount.  How much did you pay in total, not how much did you pay or get back at tax time!

My tax bill, $26k!

I work as a 1099 independent contractor, with no taxes taken out of my pay during the year so I pay it all in one big chunk at tax time. The size of the check I have to write the IRS this year makes me nauseous. It really hits home how much you are getting bent over by the IRS when you have to pay it all at once instead of just having it taken out of each paycheck throughout the year.

Shit, I'm hoping for at least $2k. Last year was only about $350. Then again, I somehow had 3 exemptions on my with holding. I changed that shit a month after my return. No exemptions now.

Have yet to file this year, though.

don't know yet, but you must be some sort of racist to be against donating to allow the less fortunate, ie, the folks that don't want to get out of bed in the morning to go to work, their rightful per diem to stay home.

Getting back about 10 grand.  My wife has a hair business and doesn't pay all year,  so I claim 0 on my W4 to make sure we're safe.  Last year we sold some stock options and got raped in taxes.  So I'm perfectly OK with this refund.

As it stands right now I will get about $50 back, which is fine with me.

It would be nice if I could just break even every year, but my income fluctuates with two 1099s in addition to my W2.

Not sure if anyone said this but it could be a health savings account.  My employer has one and we can set aside money pre-tax that can be used for health care or child care.  Or you know... It could be more free shit...

I haven't done my taxes yet, but am expecting roughly $2k refunded of the almost $41k I paid in this year.  Yes, that's right....$41 THOUSAND dollars I paid they took, not including what the state took.

Cry me a river.

ETA:  It's a damn good thing I can deduct things like mortgage interest, or I'd be paying in even more come April 15th.

Well I spent 6 months last year working 3 jobs instead of 2 which put me into a higher bracket. Even with withholding extra they are still fucking me. With all the extra taxes and expenses for the extra job I was barely making minimum wage after the fact. It's just not fucking worth it to bust your ass anymore.

In most cases (except for penalty situations), it doesn't matter.

Ask yourself what you paid all year.

Focusing on whether or not you got a refund is like focusing on the "car payment" without considering what you actually paid for the vehicle. Economics for juveniles.

You have been "paying in" every two weeks. On top of that, you loaned the government $2100, interest-free, over the course of the year.

You guys need to adjust your withholding to get as close to zero as possible. Why give the government a intrest free loan, or get "surprised" by owing taxes?

Talk to your HR, you can adjust it however amount you want, it doesn't count on actual number of dependents at all.

Actually met with my CPA today. He estimates I will have to fork over another $10k.
