Anyone got a good one? |
|
I was a complete skeptic, but my step-mom persisted so I tried Cold-Eze the last time I got the first little sore throat/sniffle symptoms of a cold.
That stuff works! 24 hours later I was feeling much better, and 12 hours after that I was fully optimal once again. |

Never heard of either of them. Can I buy them over the counter at a grocery store type place?

Zicam or Cold-Eze RFN. Have to take it early on. Never heard of either of them. Can I buy them over the counter at a grocery store type place?
Over the counter. It's zinc. |

Quoted: Country Time pink lemonade made using Perrier and mixed 3 parts lemonade to one part Everclear in a 32 ounce glass. Get absolutely schnotlockered drinking that stuff and the next morning when you wake up the cold is burned out of your system. |

Always thought this was bullshit until I actually saw it work multiple times and then tried it. When the symptoms first start pick your favorite booze and get schnockered. The next day you may have a hangover but no cold. ETA: The cold ease/zinc helps to shorten the cold but you still have to deal with it for a few days. |

Any effect from these products is purely placebo.

Quoted: The real answer is ibuprofen, pseudoephedrine, dextromethorphan, and guaifenesin to treat the symptoms. Plus rest and time. Don't have time for either of those. ![]() I think that's probably why I got a cold in the first place, not enough rest and working out in the cold compromised my normally superhuman immune system. |

There is literally no active ingredient in them, which is what homeopathic means. Not exactly true. zincum gluconicum is the active ingredient. Granted, it's in a pretty small dose (esp. in the lozenges) but it's an active ingredient. I've tried the nasal gel twice and both times I felt better in less than a day. It's not science, because I can't verify the intensity of the cold otherwise, but I generally keep them around for 4-7 days and both times it was the typical scratchy throat and sinus encroaching and then bang, gone. I have not tried the other stuff, but Zicam is worth a shot IMHO. |
