We just had our excitement for the morning. One of the local bums just walked into the warehouse and made off with a brand new DeWalt Rotohammer. Just grabbed it out of the shop managers office, jumped on his bike and rode away. Luckily, the lady next door saw him with it, ran over and told us and our shop kids took off after him. Caught him three blocks away with it. Recovered the tool and turned the douche over to the cops. Ballsy bastard to walk right into the shop and take off with a $1,200 rotohammer. |

Quoted: The DEMS say we are working too hard...he ought to be able to convert your RotoHammer into Crack or the drug of his choice then sit back and right poetry all day... Good Job FTW... I wonder how much thievery will increase when more and more people start losing their jobs over Obamacare and have a lot more free time to pursue other interests. |

Quoted: Security measures seem to have a little to be desired. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more in this shithole of a city. Hell, the local recycling center is right across the street. It's a parade of bums and shitheels all day long at that place turning in their scavenged cans for a few bucks to get themselves their daily fix. |

Had a kid walk up to the front of our building and take a bike off the rack, hop on and ride off. Hopped in our work truck started driving through the surrounding side streets looking for him. Found him just 3 blocks away and was already in the middle of selling the bike for $50. Little shit.

Glad you got it back VacaDuck.
Just finished building a 4x8 foot workbench with a locking tool crib underneath with my Dad. Couple months ago some prick broke into his garage and stole several power tools-some were Dad's and some were mine. While I didn't lose a $1200 roto hammer, I did lose a $300 DeWalt Li-Ion hammer drill, an 18v Dewalt circular saw, dual charger, and a Bostitch framing nailer
Dad's homeowners policy just replaced them, and he doesn't want it happening again. |

Quoted: That whole plaza area was sketchy as fuck. I dont know if they changed it but the Food fair/ grocery outlet was hella ghetto. Quoted: Quoted: The recycling center on monte vista? That 7/11 is sketchy as hell, too. That whole plaza area was sketchy as fuck. I dont know if they changed it but the Food fair/ grocery outlet was hella ghetto. The first place I lived in town was just down the street on Buckeye. It wasn't a bad area. Of course, I grew up in Richmond, so my idea of a bad area is a lot different than a VV natives. ![]() |

The recycling center on monte vista? That 7/11 is sketchy as hell, too. No, I work in Vallejo. I just flew home from a 3.5 week job at the Shell refinery in Martinez. Someone from the plant had two black guys pull up next to him as he pulled out onto Pacheco, flashed a gun and told him to pull over. They stole his wallet and phone. |

I'd bet it was a calculated gamble: he gets away with a tool worth over $1K, or knows that the max in CA for Grand theft (over $950) is a year at county. Quoted:

Damn. That is ballsy. I'd bet it was a calculated gamble: he gets away with a tool worth over $1K, or knows that the max in CA for Grand theft (over $950) is a year at county. He won't do any time at all... hell we are letting out rapists because their last offense was theft, and the prisons and county jails are bursting at the seams. |
