Very interesting.  I always assumed I was right eye dominant and this test confirms it.  Never seen or heard of this test before.  Try it out.

http://www.topendsports.com/testing/tests/eye-dominance.htm

Procedure: Extend both arms in front of your body and place the hands together so as to make a small triangle between your thumbs and the first knuckle (see image). With both of your eyes open, look through the triangle and focus on a specific small object. Close your left eye. If the object remains in view, you are right eye dominant. If your hands appear to move off the object and move to the left, then you are left eye dominant.

Or hold your arm out and block your view of an object with a finger.  Close each eye, one at a time.  The one where the finger "stays" in the same place is your dominant eye.

You can also do this with another person looking at your palms.   They will see your dominant eye through the triangle

Interesting, I wonder if having differing levels of acuity in the eyes have effect.  If I do it on an object that's close, the right eye is dominant, but on objects farther away it's the left.  I have a slight astigmatism in my right eye.

We use the peer to peer method.

The kids stand opposite an advisor, form a very small diamond shaped viewing window with both hands.  They stand about 10 ft away and they look at our nose through their opening.  Whatever eye we see is their dominant eye.

The reason we do it this way is so they don't introduce their own bias and we can limit the frustrations on the range.

Yes, I am right handed and left eye dominant. I shoot right handed, I tried shooting left handed and couldn't hit the side of a barn from the inside.

I did as a kid. I trained myself to be right eye dominant as I grew older.

Easier way is look through the triangle and move it toward your face until it touches. Which eye sees the object?

Yes.  Kinda.

I was born left-handed, and am left eye dominant.  My parents didn't want a freak for a son, so the summer before I started first grade I wore a mitten on my left hand.

So now I'm mostly ambidexterous.  Generally shoot righty, but also shoot left just as well.  The only thing I have trouble with is bolt actions.  For some reason, only can do well with those right-handed.

I'm right hand - left eye. Shooting handguns isn't any different, you just naturally align the sights and stance to your eyes. I find rifles with irons can cause troubles with focusing but with the advent of reflex sights and red dots the issue is pretty much gone.

That's me. I'm a weird mixtures of mostly left handed ness but I do many things right handed and some things with either hand. I generally shoot right handed but can do left fairly well. I've learned to shoot handguns with both eyes open.

My wife and both girls are right hand left eye dominant . It wasn't a huge deal with the girls I just bought them left hand bows and taught them to shoot rifles lefty. Hand guns aren't a huge deal they hold them out front and just give the head a bit of a turn to line up the left eye. My wife was a hard head she didn't shoot much growing up but the little bit her dad did take her he had shit all fukd up and she swore it was ok and I was going to mess her up . Fuk that we worked and worked on it now she shoots just like the girls and is a pretty damn good shot. She said her dad used to get pissed because she couldn't hit anything and was just wasting ammo. She enjoys the hell out of shooting now and actually asks to go. Carries her jframe ccw and asked for her own AR for Christmas

RIght handed, left eye dominant

I shoot right handed. Left handed people are the Devil's minions and I won't subject myself to the lord's workings.

I just shoot at the fuzzy thing.

I'm an "A" classified shooter, so I guess I do. I've never tried my dominant eye to be honest. I assume we are talking about pistols. I shoot with both eyes open with my head turned a bit to the right just so my nose blocks my right eye from the front sight.

I have a sporting clays magazine where one of the articles says eye dominance changes.

I'll have to find it.  I took a one day one on one class with a sporting clays instructor.  I brought my shorter over/under along.  I couldn't hit a clay to save my life.  I tried my instructor's longer Krieghoff K-80 and then his Beretta A400 semi-auto.  Both worked much better for me.  The semi-auto's receiver has to be longer to accomodate getting a shell into and out of the chamber.  That pushes the muzzle even further away.

Long story short, it was very zen like.

For me it is complicated. I'm right handed and when I do this test or most other things that involve eye dominance I'm left eye dominant. Yet, anytime I pick up a firearm and look down the sights aligned with a target I automatically switch to my right eye for dominance, don't think about it, it just happens.

I know someone who was a good High Power shooter that determined he was actually left eye dominant, so he switched and started shooting left handed.  As I understand it he made the President's Hundred shooting both left and right handed -- so the transition can be made but he said it was a difficult thing to do...

If you are rifle shooting on the wrong side of your eye dominance, it would be worthwhile to really work at getting on the right side.  It would be unpleasant for a while, but would very likely improve your rifle shooting overall.  I am right/right, but had to get one of my sons shifted over properly to the left.  He had picked up right handed shooting from toy guns and nerf type stuff before getting to a range, so it took a little bit of fuss to move him over.   He has won a few matches as high junior shooting left handed since the move.

You may be "ok" on the wrong side, but I do not think you can reach your full potential as a rifle shooter shooting on the non dominant eye.
