I had to go to Houston on business last week and there was an Academy next to my hotel, so I decided to take a walk and look around.  They had pretty much everything in stock.  Saw several signs stating that you could only purchase two boxes of 22LR per person per day.  I picked up some 12 ga. buckshot and slugs for about $4/box, and than asked the counter guy if that had any 22lr and where it might be.  He said they keep it behind the counter so the neckbeards won't get it.  His words.  They had 50 rd boxes of supersonic for $2.99 and 100 rd boxes of subsonic for $6.99.  I asked him what would happen if I bought two boxes and left the store, then came back.  He said that he would remember me and not sell me any more until the next day.  Never had much to do with Academy, but they just got my business.

22lr

12 ga.

Funny thing, they had plenty of this for 31 cents/round with no limits.  I could have bought everything they had but only got one case.  My guns love this stuff.

I wonder who is buying the ammo that these guys flip.

This is going to to turn out like a Vanilla Ice record.  11 million people bought that stupid record and I've never even heard of anyone who did, much less talked to someone who would admit it.  But they damn sure did.  These idiots would stop buying all the 22 ammo to flip if no one was buying it.  But someone is.

Academy here had piles of everything except .22lr.  Prices weren't terrible either.

Been going to Academy since my childhood.  Have bought tons of things from them at decent prices.

Thunderbolts.

There's a reason why they're available and no other .22LR ammo is.

its not exactly the frenzy but a local FB gun group tells me when Academy gets .22 in
like clock work

and they still have no issue selling it at double to triple the price
Monday they must have got some bucket o' bullets in because they were all on that group selling them a hour later
$150 each gone within minutes

The funny thing about these Anti-Neckbeard threads and the ensuing posts by the Anti-Neckbearders, is the use of product and price controls as a perfectly legitimate capitalist activity by a store.

And in same breath, curse those no good FSA faggot ass neckbeards for buying cheap ammo and reselling it.

The tears of hypocrisy are delicious.

Actually was $159.99.  Works out to .307/round.  I rounded up to 31 to make it easier to post.

Yep, the real problem is that these dumbass stores aren't selling the ammo at market prices.

If they'd sell at ACTUAL market prices, the price would come down much faster.
