Less mass = less penetration.

This looks kind of like the idiotic "last round you'll ever need" story that was on The Blazes a few days ago.

It has potential that's for sure! Replace the regular cable with a razor sharp string that will slice through anything. Then they can sell it to the zombie morons as a Zombie decapitating bullet!

Do you want a 1 inch hole in the bad Guy or a 0.3 inch hole?

Most organs need 3-5 inches of penetration in skin before You hit something vital. Sure it spreads like birdshot but there isn't enough penetration of those segments to kill.

Give me ranger-t, gold dot or hst.

I think its early, but it does have some potential. Not a game changer, but might give others ideas on ways to improve the design/function.

That thing looks like it's made to slow down quick, like before it hits the intruder in your house quick. Even if it did hit the intruder in your house, it doesn't seem like it'd be very accurate. Like it it may very well sometimes travel in the general direction of where it was aimed kind of accuracy.

Actually I was joking, it is a stupid idea and is a gimmick. Much better were the old 200 gr .357 multi loads with a 120 JHP and two 40gr wad cutters stacked behind. I shot these and they would group (bullets) at about 1" @ 20 yards.

GoldDot seems to be a pretty decent round.  How does this round behave around vehicle glass, doors, soft cover?  aka  no thanks.

Many years ago an old policeman ,who BTW carried a .38-40 Colt SAA,

said he preferred solid bullets over hollow points because they weighed

more and would be able to punch through to get to the vital parts. He

was a legend in the area.

That guy is the epitome of neckbeard.

Anyhow, I have absolutely zero confidence that those cables won't just snap apart once the thing expands.  In order to make them strong enough, they'd have to be so thick that now you've put too much of your payload into something that doesn't perform on target.

That, and why would you want to put the majority of the mass of your projectile load five inches away from where you're aiming?  Five inches is quite a bit.  It's enough that a center hit on the A zone might put one in each shoulder and one in the gut.  IOW, not an incapacitating wound.

The projectile design seems to assume that people have shitty aim and need more randomization in the system.

Wouldn't the better option just be to get more practice and use a load that hits directly to POA?  Call me crazy.

Hmm.. well.. lets see.. the bullet has pretty much BEEN PERFECTED already..  anything new is just a gimmick.

Until a new way to propel small arms projectiles at hypersonic speeds (5,600 fps +) comes about, what we have now is pretty much the end of the line.
