Ever since about 2 years ago when I dropped my $155.00 Windstream business phone service for Vonage @$12.48. Windstream raised my DSL fee from $39.99 to $78.00! I recently called them about a bill problem. Shortly after that I received a 3 question survey via email. I answered it unfavorably and in one day got a phone call asking exactly why I was unhappy. I told the girl about the increase from $39-$78 on my DSL because I dropped their phone service. She listened and assured me that "she would work on it right now" Yeah, right. Heard that before.

She calls back in 30 minutes and tells me that for my loyalty of many years with phone service with them she has set me up with a $20.00 credit every month for the next 36 months to help off set my increase. So basically Windstream is giving me $720.00 credit! Damn. Big win for me.

^ this. I understand it is awesome hearing credits and discounts when dealing with this stuff, but unless they dropped your DSL charge back down on top of the credit every month you still lose

78.00-39.99= 38.01 X 24 = 912.24-720.00 = 192.24 of your money they still have so how exactly have you won anything?

all they did was adjust their price, winning would have been a full refund and an adjustment on the price.

155+39.99 = 194.99/mo initial

12.48+78.00 = 90.48 before credit, a 104.51/mo reduction

Add another 20/mo for the credit and he is saving 124.51/mo.  There's the win.

You guys are assholes.

My total bill for phone and internet was $155.00 of which $39.00 was DSL. I'm now getting $20.00 credit per month and my DSL price will be $58.00 from now on the way I understand it.

Paying $58.00 is better than $78.00 because I have NO other choice for DSL. I'll take it!

Phone & internet was $155.00

Phone & internet NOW is $70.48. An actual savings of $84.52 each month.

I would be THRILLED with $58/mo for DSL.  Sadly ours is $83 since we MUST have a phone line to get DSL service  There are no alternatives either since the same company owns both the phone and cable companies and we have no wireless that is worth anything.
