I have that exact one along with VirtuaNES and pretty much the entire NES library, along with a few homebrew/hack ROMS.

I've been wanting to get a Raspberry Pi emulation station going so I can play on my TV.

I play on my phone more than any other game. Plus all the ROMs only take up 262MB

admitting to digital piracy is tolerated here, but not weed?

I look down on modern consoles because they are currently ruining gaming for the PC master race. That said, some of the classics have a place in the halls of gaming history. The original NES games designed for the light gun were good for their time. The Punisher was my favorite of that era until Time Crisis came out on PS1.

The OP might own every single console cartridge - the ROMS are just backups. But weed is still illegal in the United States.

If you personally back up the game yourself.... maybe.

Downloading from unauthorized source and you don't have the game? Nope.

Highly unlikely OP has all games A-Z. That would amount to a multi-thousand, if not million dollar collection. Let's be intellectually honest here....

Punishable by up to 5 years and $250k fine.

Technically, distribution is where the criminal complaints come in, not possession. Unlike marijuana, which is still illegal to possess in the United States.

Majority of people who consume but don't sell never get busted. Same with pirated products.

Illegal is still illegal.

Non-compliance with either "law" is widespread....

The only difference is buying/selling/owning pirated goods doesn't make you a prohibited person unless you get caught, charged, and convicted in criminal court.

I had a compliant filed against me for downloading BSG in college. I never distributed, just downloaded. Had to sign something saying I would destroy all copies and cease downloading of any copyrighted materials in order to avoid charges.

I'd be interested to know how you got a complaint filed against you for only downloading. If you don't mind my asking, what protocol/client/technology were you using?

Unsecure FTP. Yeah, I know. Seemed like a good idea at the time, especially for HD. I already had the series in SD but got greedy....

I never saved a copy of the letter I had to sign. Wasn't anal about doc retention like I am today, otherwise I'd have saved it. Not sure how binding the "contract" or w/e you'd call it was.

The university I went to had so many IPs that most clients on the network received a publically routable IP address. Network admin knew who it was in a matter of minutes when compliant was received.

My thumbs hurt looking at that controller again.

I am very shocked that my generation didn't grow up with permanent hammer thumbs because of that devil pad.

NES Max controller for the win.

I have that controller and the Sega one as well.  It brings back memories.
